What Is the $25 Million Security Uplift Grant for Muslim Communities?
The Security Uplift for Muslim Communities is a $25 million Australian Government program designed to help Muslim organisations improve the physical security of their facilities. The funding covers mosques, Islamic schools, community centres, and other Muslim community facilities across Australia. Eligible security upgrades include CCTV systems, access control, security lighting, fencing, and alarm systems.
The program is administered by the Australian National Imams Council (ANIC) on behalf of the Department of Home Affairs. It runs over three years and is open to all Muslim sects and denominations. Expressions of Interest must be submitted by 24 April 2026.

What Security Upgrades Does the Grant Cover?
The grant funds the installation or upgrade of physical security infrastructure at your facility, covering five main categories of security equipment.
CCTV Systems
Installation or upgrade of closed-circuit television systems for facility monitoring.
Access Control Systems
Electronic access controls, card readers, intercom systems, and entry management.
Security Lighting
Motion-sensor lighting, perimeter lighting, and improved visibility around the facility.
Fences and Gates
Perimeter fencing, bollards, security gates, and physical barriers.
Detection and Alarm Systems
Intruder alarms, duress systems, and detection technology for early threat identification.
How Do You Apply for the Mosque Security Grant?
The application process starts with a simple Expression of Interest (EOI) submitted through the ANIC website. You do not need to prepare a full application upfront. After your EOI is reviewed, a professional security assessment is conducted at your facility before any formal funding application.
